I love fashion. It's an obsession of mine. I think you should have fun with fashion and not take it too seriously. And wear colour, colour, colour!

I am even more obsessed with nail art. Since discovering Pinterest I have also discovered how many cool nail art designs you can do at home. Here are a few I have tried.
I tried some more marbled nails. Practice definitely makes perfect.
Using toothpicks I did some hearts and dots using normal nail varnish.I've also been having lots of fun with my models own nail art pen. I've been practising so I've got a little better. Here are a few of the designs I've done.
These are some spots and stripes. Not great but one of my first proper attempts.
I did this leopard print ring finger manicure for my trip to the zoo. I thought it was rather appropriate.
This is personally my favourite look I've created with this pen. It takes a very steady hand (not so easy on using my left hand) and a lot of patience but I like it. As with them all, I'm sure practice makes perfect.I'm really getting into DIY nail art but at the moment I've only scratched the surface. When I have time I'll be doing lots of different things. I want to try out a splatter manicure and some proper stripes using tape.
So I tried out marbled nails last night. What do you think?
I won't even begin to try to explain it l'll just send you to the video that I watched. It is very instructional. The video is OPI but I used Nails Inc varnishes, including the new Baker Street.
I have to say this is a time consuming activity but I did enjoy it and I'm sure I'll get better after a few more attempts.
I went to Boots yesterday and there was an offer on Models Own products: buy two products and get a free nail art pen.
As I have complete obsession with nail art I couldn't resist. I've never bought any Models Own products so I bought a pale blue nail varnish to go with the nail art pen. The pen has a pointy tip for dots, details and the like plus a paint brush for stripes and the like.
Today I had a play and I was surprised at how easy the nail art pen was to use. Here are the results:
My right hand was a little less successful but still a lot better than I expected.
My favourite is the leopard print on my little finger, much easier to achieve than expected. Any suggestions for different designs for me to play with?
I have to say in general I was very impressed with the Models Own nail varnish as well, a really nice product.
My only question now is when will they bring out even more colours of the pen??
On my left hand I've painted all bar my ring finger green & my ring finger is red with the gold nail effects.
On my right hand I did the opposite
What do you think? Which is your fave?
Yes, we all know I have a nail varnish obsession but I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I'd add a few of my nail varnish techniques to kick start my blogging again.
I should probably just have a blog dedicated to nail varnish but that seems ridiculous!
Up first, a new nail effects - it's GOLD! Barry M have really got the nail effects sorted and are such a bargain and easy way to update your look. I've tried mine with a dark blue/black and a red underneath. I think the darker blue/black worked better.
Barry M have also brought out a new Croc nail effect varnish which I cannot wait to get my hands on. Pretty awesome looking.
I've also been playing with some more ring finger manicures which I think are growing on me. I definitely prefer the pinky Nails inc colours than the blues I did before. I did the red with the black nail effects for Halloween, it was supposed to be an orange nail varnish but that didn't work. I think it would have looked better if I had done the ring finger with nail effects and left the others plain.
A little one about my new nail varnish. A lovely taupe colour from Nails Inc which I actually got free from Glamour magazine, even better.
A lot of celebrities have been sporting ring finger manicures so I decided to give it a go. I used Barry M 'Blueberry' on all my fingers and put a few layers of OPI 'Absolutely Alice' on my ring finger.
I'm a bit unsure about it but I think I'll try it out in a few different combinations. What do you think? WIll you be rocking the ring finger manicure?Yep, I'm afraid it's another nail post. I do love updating my nails and I've been meaning to do this post for ages so here it finally is.
First up, check out these nails... how awesome are they??
Well this is another one of my little tricks, no need to be a nail artist, you just need a cheat and this one is Nailease.
These are super quick and easy, the step by step really is as easy as it says on the website:
That really is it, in fact it is even easier that it seems. I love these and I will be stocking up as soon as their new collection is out I will be taking advantage of the free delivery when you buy 3 pack.
How cool are these nails??
Not the golf information that is plastered across them but the newspaper print. I'll let you in on a little secret...they are REALLY easy to do. It only took about 10 minutes to do and although they are a little hit and miss, I still think they look awesome and a tiny bit of practice and they will be perfect. Here's the step-by-step.
First paint your nails, choose a light colour. You could of course use white or neutral but I love colours so I used this lovely light green Spring Mews from Nails Inc.
Next up, dip your nail in some surgical spirits.
Then lay some newspaper over your nail and press down to transfer the print.
Paint over a layer of clear nail varnish to seal, et voila. I told you it was easy!
You can do this with pretty much any prints so I'm excited to get going with that but for now I'll stick with these for a few days. For a lover of expeimenting with nails this is a perfect quick way to add a bit of fun!
My obsession continues... This new baby pink nail varnish was a bargain, £1 from George at ASDA!
